Stepping Back from Scented Designs

After years of building my small business from the ground up, I made the bittersweet decision to scale back Scented Designs. We moved out of our warehouse, paused production, and took a moment to breathe.

In that space, I had time to think about the work that lights me up the most: storytelling. Not just any storytelling, but the kind that helps businesses connect deeply with their audience, spark action, and grow.

Writing and storytelling was something I'd done for years as a freelancer copywriter prior to launching Scented Designs, and something I did - as much as there was time for - during the busy days of running a product-based business.

So, in order to give myself space to do more of what I love, I’ve pivoted to pursue my passion for copywriting, using everything I’ve learned from running Scented Designs to craft words that make brands shine.

Falling in Love with Storytelling

Here's the thing it took me a while to realize: Scented Designs wasn’t just about our hand-poured soy candles - it was about storytelling to connect with our customers in a way other candle companies weren't:
